4th QLIF Congress 2008 in Modena

owc-2008(April 24, 2007) The fourth QLIF Congress will be held in 2008, together with the Organic World Congress 'Cultivate the Future' (OWC 2008) of the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements IFOAM, to take place June 6-20, 2008 in Modena, Italy. Current status of QLIF research: Video presentations

(April 23, 2007) During and following the 3rd QLIF congress in Hohenheim, FiBL produced a series of video-presentations which can be viewed at the QLIF website. The videos give an ioverview of the results achieved itn the QLIF subprojects.

Proceedings of the 3rd QLIF Congress

1455(March 27, 2007) The proceedings document the results of the congress ‘Improving Sustainability in Organic and Low Input Food Production Systems’ held March 20 - 23, 2007, organized by the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture FiBL in cooperation with the University of Hohenheim.

This congress was the 3rd in a series organized as part of the EU funded Integrated Project ‘Quality Low Input Food’ QLIF. It was convened in parallel with the 9th Scientific Conference on Organic Agriculture in German-speaking countries, entitled ‘Between tradition and globalization’, hosted by the University of Hohenheim. The QLIF project aims to improve quality, ensure safety and reduce cost along the organic and low input food supply chains through research, dissemination and training activities.

Its subprojects cover all aspects of organic and low input food and farming: Consumer studies, quality, crop & livestock production, processing and supply chains, environmental and socioeconomic aspects.

The proceedings are available for free download at the FiBL shop; order number 1455. Printed copies can be ordered there at a price of 15 Euros.

Press release of the University of Hohenheim: Successful 9th Scientific conference and 3rd QLIF Congress

9. Wissenschaftstagung Ökologischer Landbau(March 26, 2007) In its closing press release the University of Hohenheim states that the 9th scientific conference on organic agriculture ('Wissenschaftstagung') and the 3rd QLIF congress attracted more than 600 researchers from Europe and abroad. There had been more than 350 oral papers, posters or symposia.

Workshop on self-sufficiency in organic farming

(February 1, 2007)At the QLIF Congress a workshop on self-sufficiency in organic farming will be held. The objective of the workshop is to elucidate research initiatives specifically contributing to self-sufficiency in organic farming, and in this way inspire and enhance international and transnational research cooperation. The workshop takes place on March 21, from 17.00 to 18.30.
